Blizzard Blog Hopping

My boys {I have three sons ages 17, 14 and 13} are off shoveling out driveways for our neighbors.

My girl, Miss S {age 19}, is taking a nap.

My Sweet Pea {age 4 1/2 months} is sitting beside her Mimi {that’s me} cooing as she is apt to do.

My hubby is working in the garage because he has the day off due to all the snow that descended on our area last night.

And, I, Melissa, the writer of this blog, am joining in the Blizzard Blog Hop because I have cleaned out closets to my hearts content and would love some interaction with other gals.

I attended Blissdom last year and had a great time {except for the whole getting snowed in, cancelled flight and renting a 4 wheel drive to get myself home part at the end}.  Health issues prevent me from traveling as much this year.

I volunteer with a wonderful organization called Young Lives that offers mentoring and support to teen moms {which I was}.

I accept invitations to speak and share my story for God’s glory and I write from my heart on a semi regular basis on this blog.  I also write a monthly column for the M.O.B Society called Tackling the Talk.  I think that sums it up but if you would like to know more about moi, you can visit my About Me page.

And because I was tagged by a sweet Twitter friend I will also share seven things not many know about me:

  1. I play the flute.
  2. My dream trip would be to Prince Edward Island.
  3. I took sailing lessons in high school.
  4. I detest bananas.
  5. I like Dr. Phil (*gasp*)
  6. I don’t drink diet anything.
  7. I am an avid coupon clipper.

I would love to see you back here again soon.

    Hello there,

Thank you stopping by my blog. I cannot imagine having three big boys…I guess soon enough! PEI is beautiful but I’m happy to live on Canada’s other beautiful island, Cape Breton! I’ll be sure to visit again soon…I can always use inspiration for other multitasking Mamas!

My goodness you seem busy busy busy! Three boys, oh lord. I have 2 and that is plenty. Hee hee.

I would like to run a series of stories on my blog called Deployment Stories. It can be from any branch of the military, and from soldiers or the spouses on the homefront. It can be about anything, but I would prefer them to be upbeat stories, not sad, though you can write about hard times, just end it in a positive note.

Moms Around The World. Stories about you as a mom if you are of a different heritage than American. Stories you’ve found about moms in other countries other than America (give author credits). Stories of how the moms live, how they raise their kids, traditions, morals, etc.

So if you would like to guest blog for me on these, or another topic, please let me know. It’s a good way to cross promote blogs!

Hi! I tweet with you all the time but haven’t been to your blog very often (shame on me!) It is nice to meet you in a deeper way! I love LOVE that you were a teen mom and God brought you closer to him so you can help others in the same situation. God needs willing servants like you to reach those young girls – they will listen to you whereas someone like me who waited they will blow off.

So pleased to meet you Melissa. Stopping by with the Blizzard Blog Hop.

You’re one busy Mama! And yes, we do indeed share a lot of similarities. We were out in your part of the country at Christmas… D.C. Baltimore, Philly, NYC.
    Lots of SNOW!

I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes cleaning out the closets! I’m itching to do that myself. One of my good friends in law’s live on PEI and she use to tell her husband she wanted to move there, but then he’d remind her of the winter!
