WW- My “not so” little boy

Today I am wishing that I could go back to the days my thirteen year old looked like this and parenting seemed so easy to me…

Right now we argue about everything it seems.  Wistfully, I look at this chubby little guy and remember all the dreams I had for him.

Praying that this “phase” is something we both live through ;)

Lord, you know the difficulties we are facing with my sweet boy.  I know that most of this is just a part of growing up but my heart hurts, my head is spinning and this mama needs you, God. Protect my child and help me be the mama you want me to be, not the one that is guided by her emotions and fears. ~Amen

It really does get easier! I think 12 and 13 were the hardest years with my boy. He is almost 17 now, and the past couple of years have really been a breeze for the most part.

that is so good to know…Jared is thirteen right now.

Those really are the tough years. I'll pray for you both! I really will.

Thank you! Someone should warn people the tween/teen years are so hard ;)

You mean it gets harder? My oldest is almost 9. Somedays I wonder if he'll live to see 13! lol

Good luck to you! 12 and 13 were really hard years for us and my step-son, but he is almost 17, and is a GREAT kid. Things will get better…it just seems like it takes forever for it to get that way though. Prayers and hugs to you!!

I love the prayer. I find myself praying, bawling out to God for wisdom each day to be a mother too. God will help you.

Why can't they just stay little forever?

  • 7ClownCircus

I argue with my daughter all the time. I try not to, but it always happens. Parenting IS easier when they are little and everything is still black and white.

I'm just making a blog button page on my blog. Do you have a blog button I can put up?

  • http://iamharriet.com Harriet

Sometimes, I wish they could stay little.

oh, I know…but it is part of God's plan for us to grow (I keep reminding
    myself of that)

Saying prayer with you right now…….so sorry your heart hurts. Big hug for you!

Good luck. I hope it gets better. I think those thoughts sometimes, about how sad it's going to be that my two cheery preschoolers might one day utter the words, “I hate you” and in that moment mean it. Ugh. I hope the phase passes quickly for you.

thanks Debra! Parenting is a tough job!
