Never a discouraging word…

Today’s theme for the blog hop is encouragement. Encouraging others is not something that comes naturally to me- I am so thankful for the people in my life for whom encouraging is a spiritual gift. However, I certainly do not think that excludes me from being able to be of encouragement to others through sharing my experiences.

Have you ever fought God on something? Really put your foot down and said “I don’t wanna?” If we are honest we have probably all done this {to some degree or another} at some point in our faith walk. I do it a lot. Stubbornness is one of the most prevalent features of my fleshly personality and God and I struggle {wrestle, if you will} about what He wants me to do all the time. I have learned some tough lessons by not obeying God right away and by trying to take things into my own hands.

Here is the awesome thing about God- He loves me anyway. According to Ephesians 2:4 we serve a God who is full of grace and rich in mercy. He loves you too. So, no matter how far you feel from His will, from knowing Him as your Heavenly Father or from what you thought “the plan” for your life was supposed to look like…please know today that He longs to bless you and love you with the richness of His grace and the fullness of His mercy. Go meet Him and accept these awesome gifts. It is not too late.
